Michael Cavallaro is the Founder and Managing Partner of MJC Partners, LLC, an independent investment banking firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and capital advisory services for companies in the financial services industry. Prior to founding MJC Partners, Mr. Cavallaro served as a Director at FIG Partners and Vice President at Hovde Financial, where he established a successful track record in structuring, negotiating, and executing an extensive number of transactions over his 10+ years serving institutional clients. Since founding MJC Partners, Mr. Cavallaro has performed the highest number of capital raises through private placements of debt and equity instruments for banks in the Western U.S. under $1 billion in assets and continues to rank as one of the highest performing M&A advisors for financial institutions.
Mr. Cavallaro received a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Financial Economics from Bowling Green State University. A natural born entrepreneur, Mr. Cavallaro whole heartedly believes that a positive understanding of a clients’ needs will create relationships that lead to loyalty and support, a theme that has been demonstrated in MJC Partners’ track record since its founding in 2014. Mr. Cavallaro has long benefitted from a diverse skill set and a genuine interest in people that continues to build his widespread network of friendships and business partnerships.

Carlton Jenkins is the President of MJC Partners’ Financial Services division. In his capacity as President, he is able to leverage his successful track record as a former Bank Executive and Founder into the MJC Partners’ client service experience. Mr. Jenkins brings his first-hand knowledge of taking a bank through the merger and acquisition process, further providing clients with invaluable insight into the sales process. Mr. Jenkins provides oversight and ongoing strategic direction to the MJC Partners team of professionals focused on providing the highest level of service, best in class execution, and industry knowledge to the firm’s financial services clients.
Mr. Jenkins is recognized locally and nationally for his commitment to and successful history of looking creatively at ways to deploy capital, banking and financial products and services into Emerging Markets and Underserved Communities. Mr. Jenkins has been involved as a Founder or Co-Founder in 2 Minority Owned Banks, while also serving as Chairman, President and CEO of one of the most successful Minority Owned banks in the Country. He has helped raise and deploy Institutional Capital into Urban Markets as a Partner with one of the country’s most successful Private Equity Firms and has also provided diversity and urban market related advice and counsel to a number of Commercial Banks, Fortune 500 Companies and a number of GSE’s. His leadership as a board member and advisor has also has also been provided at the highest level to a number of both Corporate and Non-Profit organizations focused on issues such as entrepreneurship, job creation, capital formation, community economic development, and social services.

Mr. Kuykendall is Vice President at MJC Partners serving in a capacity of advising clients on mergers & acquisitions and capital raising, determining enterprise valuations, and originating new deals. Mr. Kuykendall brings with him over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining MJC Partners, Mr. Kuykendall served as an Associate Director with Sheshunoff & Co. Investment Banking advising community banks throughout the United States on M&A transactions, providing bank stock valuations, and assisting boards with strategic planning sessions. Prior to that role, Mr. Kuykendall served as an equity research analyst for Century Management, an asset management firm with $2.2 billion in assets under management. Over the course of his career, Mr. Kuykendall also provided retail investment services to individual, corporate, and not-for-profit clients during his tenures at T. Rowe Price and Mutual of America. Mr. Kuykendall graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Certificate in Computer Information Systems. Mr. Kuykendall is licensed as a registered representative with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and holds the following licenses: Series 62 and 63.

Mr. Gutterman is a Vice President at MJC Partners serving in a capacity of advising clients on mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt capital raising, determining enterprise valuations, corporate development, and originating new deals. Mr. Gutterman brings with him over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining MJC Partners in 2015, Mr. Gutterman was an Associate with Sterne Agee’s Financial Institutions Investment Banking group in Newport Beach. Prior to that role, Mr. Gutterman was an Associate at Arbor Advisors in Palo Alto, executing M&A and private placements for private technology companies. Previously, Mr. Gutterman spent four years at JP Morgan Securities in the Private Client Services division. Originally from the Bay Area, Mr. Gutterman holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. Mr. Gutterman is licensed as a registered representative with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and holds the following licenses: Series 7, 63, 66, and 79.

Mr. Martinez is an analyst at MJC Partners and is responsible for M&A, capital raising and valuation analysis for the firm. Mr. Martinez previously worked as an analyst at Black Legend Capital, an industry agnostic lower middle market investment banking firm, where he was responsible for financial analysis and the creation of presentation materials. Prior to that role, Mr. Martinez worked at Wedbush Securities as an analyst in their operations department. Originally from Los Angeles, Mr. Martinez holds a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Los Angeles in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Ms. Jenkins is the Marketing Assistant for MJC Partners and has been with the firm since 2018. Ms. Jenkins’ responsibilities include undertaking daily administrative responsibilities to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities, assisting in the organizing of promotional, business branding and charitable events, including the creation of marketing related materials to support the events and often attending them to facilitate their success. Additionally, she provides support to the firm’s executives and team members with various marketing related projects. Prior to joining MJC Partners, Ms. Jenkins worked in the fashion and retail industries for such companies as Lucky Brand Jeans, Bliss, and Ross Stores. Ms. Jenkins is a Los Angeles native and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Apparel Merchandising from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
